Town library offers Homework Helpers

High school honor students will be here at the Town Library to help younger kids with their homework!
The Homework Helpers program is free and open to students in 3rd grade & above. Tutors can help in all subject areas, including math, science, reading, and ESL. They will be here on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:30 and Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-5:30, and kids may drop in at any time.
The dates for the fall are Mondays, September 29 to November 3 (no session on Columbus Day, October 13); and Tuesdays, September 30 - October 28 (no session on Election Day, November 4).

CYC hosts 11th Annual Crossings 5K Challenge and Kids Runs September 28

Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to join us for the 11thAnnual Crossings 5K Challenge and Kids Runs on Sunday, Sept. 28 in the Crossings Park at the Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center at 30 Aviation Road in Colonie.
Everyone is invited to run, walk and be part of the fun in either the 5K or for the kids we have a choice of a FREE ¼ mile Fun Run or our Kids Competitive 1 mile run for a $10 entry fee that includes an event tee-shirt while supplies last. There will be food, music and all kinds of activities for the kids including games, hair braiding and chalking by Fantastic Sams of Colonie and so much more!
All proceeds will benefit CYC’s scholarship fund providing financial assistance to low income working families in need of CYC’s before and after-school childcare program or child and family counseling services. Kids Express K-Wrap at the Maplewood School

Kids Express at the Maplewood School offers an enriching Kindergarten Wrap Program for students already enrolled in a half day Kindergarten! Our K-Wrap classroom is led by a dual-certified Kindergarten teacher and assistant, and provides an educational continuation to your child's Kindergarten day! Kids Express now offers Universal Pre-K (UPK) at the Maplewood School in Watervliet! Children must be four years old by December 1st, 2014 to be eligible.
