STUDENTS CELEBRATE BEACH DAY AS PART OF SOUTHGATE SPIRIT DAY

January 22, 2010 - Southgate students celebrate Spirit Day each month with a different theme. In January, they brought where many of us would like to be this time of year - the beach, to school.

Students and faculty dressed in beach wear as beach music was played throughout the morning. In physical education class, students played volleyball and sang beach songs in music class.

Spirit Day was developed by Building Council in order to foster a feeling of school spirit and community. The Council chose beach day to coincide with the monthly theme of perseverance.

Persevering through a cold winter. Now there is a wonderful thought.
