April 13, 2010 - In late March, the Art
Department at Shaker High School submitted 20 pieces of
student artwork for consideration at the annual Capital
Region Media Art Festival. A panel of judges reviewed the
submissions and determined the award winners. Five students’
works of art were recognized, including:
Nicole McElroy, Grade 12, Graphic Design, Honorable
Mention
Bashir Chedrawee, Grade 12, Best Narrative Film &
Best Sound
Eric Sinko, Grade 12 and Dylan Bunce, Grade
11, James Perry Grade 12, Best Stop Animation
Many area schools participate in this exhibit, and this year
North Colonie submitted strong digital artwork to the
festival.
“It is quite an honor to be included in this annual exhibit and
receive an award,” Art Department Supervisor, Anne Manzella
said. “Our students should be proud of their achievement.”
The closing and award ceremony will be held on Thursday, April
29 at 6:30 p.m. at Niskayuna High School.
