We at the North Colonie Special Education Parent Teacher Association (Special Ed PTA) want to remind parents of children with an IEP (Individualized Education Program) that a new format will be
applicable for IEPs for the next school year (2011-2012).

New York State now requires all districts in the State to use one standard format. The format is different from what our District has used in the past. However, the content required in the IEP remains the same. As the arrangement of the content is different, if you cannot locate something on the new form, please inquire with your child’s special education teacher.

We do have a parent forum at the end of our meetings for general discussion if you wish to comment; our last three meetings of the year are: April 12, May 10 and June 14 at the 2nd floor of Shaker Junior High School in the multi-purpose room. All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.
