Yesterday, the New York State Education Department announced the 2011-12 English Language Arts and Mathematics testing dates for students in grades 3-8, as well as this year's New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) testing. The testing dates are as follows:

• NYSESLAT Alternate Assessment: October 3 - February 10

• NYSESLAT Speaking: April 18 - May 18

• Grades 3-8 English Language Arts: April 17 - April 18

• Grades 3-8 Mathematics: April 23 - April 24

• NYSESLAT Listening, Reading, and Writing: May 7 - May 18

• Grade 4 Science Performance Test: May 23 - June 1

• Grade 8 Science Performance Test: May 23 - June 1

• Grade 4 Science Written Test: June 4

• Grade 8 Science Written Test: June 4

Please note that these dates were not on the printed calendar received by parents in mid-August, as they had not been released yet. These dates will be posted to the district's online electronic calendar for future reference.
