The Latham Circle Soccer Club will be raising
funds and collecting soccer equipment to help Schoharie County
soccer clubs and families impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane
Irene.
The club will be accepting donations of both
cash and new and used soccer equipment on Saturday, September 10
from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the North Colonie Soccer Complex at 538
Boght Road in Latham.
Needed soccer equipment includes cleats of all
sizes, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer balls (sizes 3, 4 and
5).
"This is Soccer Season," Latham Circle club president Kathleen
Moorhead, a native of hard hit Middleburgh said. "Soccer players
want to play soccer and we want to help make that happen. We
understand that playing soccer is low on the radar in comparison to
the devastation but kids deserve to be kids. We’re asking all of our
club families and everyone in the community to support this effort.”
The Shaker High School Girls Soccer and JV Field
Hockey teams are also planning on going to Schoharie and helping
out.
