First-year school board member Dr. Siren
Chudgar has announced that he will be stepping down from his
seat on the North Colonie Board of Education effective
November 3, 2011.
Dr. Chudgar is accepting a job opportunity that
will take him out of state and require him to relocate on a
permanent basis.
“I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve
on the North Colonie Board of Education," Chudgar said. "North Colonie is a
phenomenal school district led by excellent administrators
throughout K-12. I wish the district well in all of its future
endeavors."
Dr. Chudgar was elected to the Board of
Education this past May.
“We will miss the energy and enthusiasm he
brought to his work on the Board, but are excited for him as he
begins his new position,” Board President Mary Nardolillo said. “We
are also very grateful for the good work he's done for this district
over the years through his service on the Forts Ferry PTA, North
Colonie PTA Council, as an active member of the Budget Committee,
culminating with his recent work on the Board of Education. All of
us wish Siren continued success and all the best to the Chudgar
family.”
Board decision to fill vacated seat
The school board has agreed to fill the vacancy
Chudgar’s resignation will create by conducting a special election
on January 31, 2012.
Residents interested in completing the balance
of Chudgar’s term, expiring June 30, 2016, may pick up a nominating
petition from the board clerk’s office at 91 Fiddlers Lane or

clerk no later than December 30, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. All candidates
must also

distributed to voters prior to the election.

The North Colonie Central School District’s
Board of Education is composed of nine board members who serve
five-year terms. Members are elected by the voters of the district
to establish policy and direct the administration of our schools.
Board members receive no salaries or other compensation.
