At the end of each summer for the past 32 years, parents and staff of the North Colonie Central School District hold an extensive, fun-filled evening for new families to the district.

This year, the Newcomers’ Picnic will be held on Thursday, August 30, at 5:30 p.m. at Shaker High School. This is an opportunity for all new parents and students to meet building principals, school secretaries, administrators, Board of Education members, PTA representatives and other parent and staff representatives of our schools.

Food and beverage will be provided. There will be pleanty of hamburgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs on hand - grilled up by North Colonie staff members, along with ice cream for dessert.

Following dinner, settle in and enjoy the talents of magician, Jim Snack and storyteller, Mary Murphy, as they will entertain the crowd. Mr. Twisty will also be on hand, creating all kinds of balloon animals for you to take home with you!
