Dear North Colonie families,
As we are nearing the last couple of months of the school year, there are changes to the June calendar to tell you about, largely due to the New York State Regents Exams.
With the reduced number of exams being given and the combined 7-12 building, the end of the school year will be different. Since we have a 7-12 building and we offer Regents exams to 8th graders, per state regulation, the 7th and 8th grade students will have Regents days count as instructional days on those dates when Regents exams are offered to 8th graders. The subsequent Regents Rating Day also counts toward the required 180 days of instruction.
This year, there are four Regents exam days and one Regents Rating Day.
- Thursday, June 17 English Language Arts
- Tuesday, June 22 Living Environment
- Wednesday, June 23 Algebra I
- Thursday, June 24 Physical Setting/Earth Science
- Friday, June 25 Regents Rating Day
Friday, June 18 and Monday June 21 are two days within this timeframe when Regents exams are not scheduled. On June 18, North Colonie School District will observe the Juneteenth holiday. On June 21, K-12 will have a full attendance day. The 21st was originally reserved for World Language Checkpoint A and B, but that’s not being given this year due to the pandemic.
