Artwork Created in Every North Colonie School is Selected for BOCES Art Show

The district is sharing the spotlight with our incredible art teachers and students from elementary to high school. Some very creative work has been selected for the Capital Region BOCES 32nd Annual Student Art Show. This year’s show is virtual and it features over 200 artworks in various mediums.

“Congratulations to all of our students for this recognition and thank you to the teachers in our art program who give students the tools by which to express themselves,” said Deputy Superintendent Kathleen Skeals. “The creative expression of ideas is always important, but it is especially important during challenging times such as these as art becomes a medium by which students can express themselves, grapple with realities, or simply celebrate the everyday beauty in the world.”

Anne Manzella, District Supervisor of Visual & Media Arts said, “We are most pleased to have found new ways to celebrate student artwork in the region. The Art Show has been a staff favorite at Capital Region BOCES for over 30 years. The staff has always enjoyed taking the time to browse the over 250 photos that brought color and delight to our office walls each May. As much as the staff will miss the physical show, I am sure they will also enjoy browsing the digital version.”
