Congratulations to Shaker High School senior Ayaan Bargeer, who has been selected as a top 300 Scholar in the 81st Regeneron Science Talent Search!
The Regeneron Science Talent Search is the oldest and most prestigious science and math competition in the United States. Over 1,800 applications for the 2022 competition were received, and winners were selected from 46 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and eight other countries, including China, Switzerland, and Singapore.
The project that earned Ayaan this honor was titled, “A New Device for Agricultural Assistance: Crop Prediction Yield Using Satellite Imagery and Soil Data.” Ayaan was awarded a cash prize for his inclusion, and Shaker High School was also awarded $2,000 for STEM-related activities. 40 finalists will be selected on January 20th, receive $25,000, and participate in a week-long competition in March. Finalists will share their research with the public, participate in judging, and meet top scientists as they compete for more than $1.8 million in prize money, including a $250,000 first prize.
