FROM THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT D. JOSEPH CORR
COMING NEXT WEEK: ParentSquare
On Thursday, Oct. 6, the North Colonie Central School District will launch ParentSquare – a simple and unified school-to-home communication platform – to reach and engage every parent. All important notifications, such as school closings and delays, news and upcoming events, will be sent to parents through this platform.
❗ All parents/guardians will be invited to join ParentSquare via email on Monday, Oct. 3. The invitation will be emailed to parents based on current data in Infinite Campus/Parent Portal. Parents who do not sign up will still receive Alerts via email, text and phone call, but they won’t be able to fully interact with the platform. ❗

EDUCATING STUDENTS: ‘All Means All’ in North Colonie
We want to take the opportunity to share with our community facts and information regarding our special education program. During the 2020-21 school year, 14 percent (848) of the 5,905 students enrolled in North Colonie CSD receive some form of special education programming. This is when specific educational plans are written for a student to ensure they are receiving the services they need.
The theme of our 2022-2023 school year in North Colonie is belonging. Which is only fitting. We have a historical commitment to “all means all,” and that includes receiving the best education support possible at North Colonie CSD schools. Learn more about our Special Education Program.

We’d also like to remind you that free and reduced school meals again require an application to be submitted.
WEEKLY BOOST
Forts Ferry Elementary Supports Ride for Missing Children
More than 100 bicyclists pedaled into the front loop of Forts Ferry Elementary school late last week as part of the Albany Ride for Missing Children. The event has a long-standing history of raising awareness of missing and exploited children, educating families on critical child safety issues, and raising money to help protect children. Forts Ferry teachers and parents, along with the other riders, were welcomed with cheers and excited screams of support. Read more about the Ride for Missing Children here.
