Election of Board Officers
There will be two (2) elective officers on the Board of Education, President and Vice- President. The President and Vice-President will be elected by the Board membership from among its Members at the annual reorganizational meeting. To be declared elected, the President and the Vice-President must each receive a majority of the votes of the entire membership of the Board. The President and the Vice-President will hold their respective offices for one (1) year from the date of the annual reorganizational meeting, or until a successor is elected and sworn.
The President and Vice-President may succeed themselves.
Duties of the President
The President will:
- Preside at all meetings of the Board when present;
- Sign all warrants, bonds, minutes, contracts, and other documents related to the office;
- Appoint all committees;
- Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees;
- Call Special Meetings as deemed necessary or on request; and
- Will perform all such other duties as usually pertain to the office, as are mandated by law, or as may be required by the Board.
Duties of the Vice-President
When the Board President is not present at a meeting of the Board, the Vice-President will preside. The Vice-President will further be authorized to sign any documents which require the President’s signature, in the absence of the Board President.
Removal from Office
The President or Vice-President may be removed from office at any time by a majority vote of the entire Board.
