Congratulations to Blue Creek third grader Declan Halliday, who is our North Colonie Kids Care recipient for the month of January. Declan and his family were honored at the North Colonie Board of Education meeting on Monday, January 27. He is a well-rounded, kind-hearted and active young individual who is deeply rooted in family, community and sportsmanship. He has a unique connection to the Special Olympics, as his father Jared has been coaching the Glens Falls Unified Basketball team and advising the Unified Youth Committee since its inaugural season in 2014. This year, Declan himself participated in the Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics! In addition, he is involved in North Colonie Youth Football, Shaker Youth Baseball, Shaker Capitals Lacrosse and taekwondo outside of school. Declan is also a great brother to his three sisters! Congratulations Declan!
