Occupying the Project
Before the project is occupied by students and staff, the architect will first inspect the building and/or any other parts of the project for conformity to the requirements and regulations of the Commissioner of Education. At that time the architect will execute the “Certificate of Suitability and Acceptance of Building for Pupil Occupancy” and the Fire Safety Report and forward same to the Board of Education for approval. After Board approval, the certificates shall be forwarded to the New York State Education Department Office of Facilities Planning. A Certificate of Occupancy must be received prior to occupancy of the building.
Acceptance of Completed Project
Upon issuance by the architect of a certificate of final approval and receipt of a Certificate of Occupancy by the Commissioner, the Board will take formal action to accept the completed construction.
