- These rules shall apply to all operators, occupants and/or owners of motor vehicles or motorcycles, as defined by the Vehicle and Traffic Law, as well as snowmobiles, trail bikes, and horses, within the confines of any real property owned and used, or owned and held for future use by the school district for athletic, educational or recreational purposes.
- Operation of such motor vehicles, motorcycles, snowmobiles, trail bikes, and horses, shall be permitted only upon improved roads, driveways and parking areas. Driving, parking or standing on sidewalks, lawns or athletic fields or areas held for such uses is expressly prohibited.
- No person shall operate a vehicle upon such property at such a speed as to endanger the life, limb or property of any person, nor at a rate of speed greater than will permit such operator to bring the vehicle to a stop without injury to another or his property. A rate of speed in excess of 15 miles per hour shall be unlawful.
- The operator of any vehicle shall obey the instructions of any official sign installed for the control and direction of traffic.
- The provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York and rules and regulations of the State Traffic Commission, adopted pursuant thereto not inconsistent with these rules and regulations, shall apply to all roads and driveways of this school district.
- Violation of any of these rules shall constitute a traffic infraction as defined in the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, punishable as provided therein.
- Parking or standing of such vehicles shall be permitted only in designated parking areas. When individual parking spaces are indicated by signs, barriers or pavement markings, vehicles must be placed and left in position to conform with such signs, barriers or pavement marking.
- The operation of a vehicle on driveways or parking areas in such manner as to cause it to slide, slip, swerve, skid or veer from side to side is expressly forbidden at all times, as is the repeated circling, backing or starting of such vehicles anywhere on school district property.
- Student parking may be allowed during school hours under rules and procedures developed by the school administration.
- Vehicles illegally parked on school grounds shall be subject to towing from the premises at the owner’s expense.
