Six Shaker High School students have joined the ranks of students named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
The names of the semifinalists were presented to the Board of Education at its Sept. 19 meeting by Superintendent Joe Corr. They are:
They are among the 16,000 semifinalists nationwide. Last fall, 1.5 million juniors in 22,000 United State high schools took the National Merit Qualifying exams or PSAT.
“The students who have demonstrated this level of academic potential are impressive and reflect positively on our school system,” said Principal Jim Wager.
