Out of an abundance of caution and after receiving guidance from the Albany County Department of Health, our Extend School Year program will remain closed on Tuesday, August 4. The Albany County Department of Health is awaiting test results and further guidance from the state, which is the reason the closure has been extended through Tuesday.
Those who were in close contact with the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 have been contacted, tested and placed under a 14 day quarantine, as directed by the Dept. of Health. The high school building was also deep cleaned by the custodial staff today, Monday, August 3.
If you have any questions, please contact Director of Pupil Services Casey Bardin at caseybardin@ncolonie.org.
The Food Service program at Shaker High School has also been canceled for tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 4. If you are in need of food, it will be available for pick up at the Watervliet Elementary School (2557 10th Ave #1, Watervliet, NY 12189) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Individuals can also visit the United Way website or call 211 and they will direct you to agencies that support feeding those in need.
