Former Harlem Globetrotter Brings Anti-bullying Message to Forts Ferry

Tay “Firefly” Fisher of the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters visited Forts Ferry Elementary on November 15 to share his Anti-Bullying message with students.

He played for Siena College from 2004-2008. After graduation, he spent a decade with the Harlem Globetrotters, where he was known for his Curly Neal style dribbling and four-point range ability. He currently runs basketball camps in Troy and Kingston, N.Y.

Fisher, a motivational speaker, created the T.A.Y. Anti-Bullying Program, an engaging and interactive program that teaches kids how to prevent bullying from happening in and out of school by using the T-A-Y model T stands for TALK, A stands for ASK QUESTIONS and Y stands for YOU. The program, geared towards grades K-6 and provides tips for parents, staff, and students, aims to help build a positive environment while preventing bullying from occurring in and out of school.

“It was a fun and instructional event that kept students engaged,” said Principal Dr. Casey Parker.
