Dear North Colonie Community,
I am writing to follow-up on the racist incident that occurred at Forts Ferry Elementary. First, I’d like to thank those who have reached out to offer their thoughts and words of support.
Second, I want to share that the Colonie Police Department has completed its investigation – resulting in the arrest of two juveniles. These individuals do not attend the North Colonie Central Schools. We appreciate the work of the Colonie Police Department’s investigative team.
While it is natural to feel a sense of relief that comes with closure, it’s important to remember that this incident is not something that can or should be easily forgotten.
Our focus continues to be on the impact of the pain and hurt of this act on our Black and Brown students, families and staff. There is always work to be done. There is always more to learn.
