Students of Future Cities Club- Rohith Krishnan, Louis Jin, Harini Tummalapalli, Anushka Thennarasu, Tanishka Tennarasu, Avyukth Nanduri, Nityasree Kaki, Ridh Gutta, Pragati Timalsani, Hayyan Shohaib, Bhavya Gokul, and Aarzoo Harsh participated in the Future Cities Competition held on January 13th. The club met on Thursdays from 3 to 4 at school under the mentorship of Sujatha Kadaba. Shaker Middle School won the 3rd place in the regional competition and 4 additional awards:
1. Best Model Design
2. Best Project Plan
3. Best Innovative Moving Part
4. Innovative use of renewable energy
This year’s topic was Design a 100% Electric City. The team used the engineering design process to research, write an essay and build a 3D model of their city.
