School Meals: Important Updates for 2022-23

Free and Reduced Meals Application; Info About new Payment Portal

The need to apply for free and reduced school meals has returned. All families should have received an application in postal mail. This mailing also includes information about the district’s new system for paying for school meals.

What’s Changing with School Meals:

Schools had some flexibility during COVID so they could serve all kids free meals.  Some of those options expired, so many schools, including North Colonie, can no longer serve all meals for free. Instead, families must do what they did before COVID, and submit an application.  Schools will take applications and use family income to qualify kids for free, reduce-price, or paid meals.

Free and Reduced Price Meals are available to families who believe they may qualify. If your family chooses to apply please complete a “Free and Reduced Meal Price Application Form.” Free and Reduced Applications are being mailed to all families. The forms can be returned (completed) to any school office. You will be notified by email of your child’s status. Until notification you must provide your child with a lunch or lunch money.

The application for Free and Reduced Meals is also available on North Colonie CSD’s Nutrition Services website.

New Payment Portal – Titan:

North Colonie is using a new payment portal called Titan. Parents can set up electronic payments at family.titank12.com.  Your child’s lunch number is their student ID number which can be found in Infinite Campus. Click here for the Infinite Campus Parent Sign-on.
