Superintendent Corr introduced new hire Amy Howansky, who will be a F ACS teacher at Shaker High School.

President Harrison noted Superintendent Corr’s retirement announcement. She stated: “For the past 12 years Mr. Corr has led North Colonie with integrity, a strong intellect, compassion and optimism. He has been steadfast in prioritizing the three pillars of our District mission, academic excellence, equity and social and emotional well being in all of his decision making.” She emphasized that we are deeply grateful for everything he has done both personally and professionally each and every day to ensure that North Colonie provides the best education for all students.

Johnson offered a motion, seconded by Alber to approve the 2022-2023 School Year Emergency Response Plan, as recommended by the Superintendent of Schools.

Recommendations regarding Placement/Classification of Students as reviewed by the District Committee on Preschool Special Education for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years and recommendations regarding Placement/Classification of Students as reviewed by the District Committee on Special Education for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.

Recommendation to approve the agreement with Early Childhood Education Center to provide services for the summer 2022 ESY program and the 2022-2023 school year.

Recommendation to approve the contract with the Center for Disability Services for students attending their program in the summer of 2022 and the 2022-2023 school year.

Recommendation to approve the affiliation agreement between North Colonie Central School District and The College of Saint Rose for the school psychology internship program for the 2022-2023 school year.

Recommendation to approve the agreement between North Colonie Central School District and the Research Foundation for the State University of New York, University at Albany for the school psychology internship program for the 2022-2023 school year.

Recommendation to approve the agreement between North Colonie Central School District and Bring on the Spectrum Inc. for field trips for the ESY summer 2022 program.

Recommendation to approve the three year BARR subscription agreement between Hazelton Betty Ford Foundation and North Colonie Central Schools for the time period of June 22, 2022 through June 30, 2025.

Nardolillo offered a motion, seconded by Comproski to approve the resolution for the Board of Education to authorize the Superintendent of Schools or his designee to take steps as appropriate and necessary for the District to apply for a Permanent Labor Certification with the Department of Labor for Ms. Yasrebi and further authorizes the District to expend monies as indicated for fees relating to this application, as recommended by the Superintendent of Schools.

WHEREAS, Ms. Yasrebi is currently working in the District as an ENL Teacher; and

WHEREAS, it will be necessary for Ms. Yasrebi to secure a Permanent Resident Card, a/k/a Green Card, to continue working for the District on a longer-term basis; and

WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the District to apply for a Permanent Labor Certification with the Department of Labor as the first step of this process; and

WHEREAS, the District believes that it is in its best interest to apply for the Permanent Labor Certification on behalf of Ms. Y asrebi to allow her to continue her employment in the District.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Board of Education directs and authorizes the Superintendent of Schools or his designee to take those steps as are appropriate and necessary to have the District apply for a Permanent Labor Certification with the Department of Labor for Ms. Yasrebi, and further authorizes the District to expend monies not to exceed $1,750 for fees relating to this application.

Superintendent Corr reported to the Board of Education on enrollment as of June 24, 2022. Enrollment at the elementary level was 2,629, an increase of35 students since September 202 l. Shaker Middle School’s enrollment was 1,427, an increase of 10 students from September 2021 and Shaker High School’s enrollment was 1,968, a decrease of 17 students from September 2021. The total enrollment for the District is 6,024, up 29 students from September 2021. Superintendent Corr remarked back in 2017 our demographer, Dr. Jerome McKibben, predicted our enrollment in 2022 would be 6,027!

Comproski offered a motion, seconded by Johnson to approve the following bid award to the low bidders meeting specifications, as recommended by the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
