Shaker High School Latin students made the trip to Boston on Friday, November 17th to visit the Museum of Fine Arts where they were able to experience the impact that the Classical world has on our modern society. Students received a personalized tour focused on how the works inside the Ancient Greek and Roman exhibits connected to the sense of community and identity for ancient individuals and how they still contribute to our modern sense of community and identity. Students not only were exposed to ancient works, but they also saw modern American and Chinese pieces that were directly influenced by the art and myths of the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Then the group had lunch and some free time in downtown Boston at Quincy Market and the North End. Students were accompanied on the trip by Magistra Malara and Dr. Trini Hernandez.
