Ms. Nikki Newidomy is Shaker High School’s new LaFollette Hall Principal.

On July 8, 2024, the North Colonie Board of Education appointed the new LaFollette Hall Principal for Shaker High School. Please join us in welcoming Ms. Nikki Newidomy to the North Colonie Central School District.

Ms. Newidomy is originally from Oswego, NY, but she recently relocated to the Capital Region from Liverpool, NY in the summer of 2022 to serve as an assistant principal at Maple Ave Middle School in the Saratoga Springs City School District. Before transitioning into an administrative role, she taught ELA at Dennis Kenney Middle School in Hannibal, NY and G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton, NY.

Ms. Newidomy’s mother originated from Fort Edward, and her sister and family reside in Schuylerville, so she has a strong connection to the area. Additionally, she takes pride in being a first-generation American. Ms. Newidomy’s father arrived in this country with her grandparents as a Ukrainian refugee post-WWII.

In her free time, Ms. Newidomy enjoys outdoor activities such as working out, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, golfing, gardening, boating, and spending time by the water. She is also passionate about cooking and spending time with her three-legged, 12 pound canine companion, Ziggy.

What she loves most about being a school administrator is building positive relationships with students and staff and assisting people in achieving success. Ms. Newidomy is thrilled and proud to be a new member of the Shaker family.
