On July 8, 2024, the North Colonie Board of Education appointed the new Taft Hall Dean for Shaker High School. Please join us in welcoming Ms. Morgan Flynn to the North Colonie Central School District.
Ms. Flynn has been an English teacher for the past decade, working with high school students from grades 9 through 12 across different levels. She is an adjunct professor in the First Year Seminar program and in the HEOP (Higher Education Opportunity Program) at Siena College and says she has really enjoyed helping students transition into college and supporting underrepresented groups in higher education.
Beyond teaching, she has been involved in various committees. Ms. Flynn has been on the Secondary Grading Committee, where she worked on assessment strategies to support student learning. She has also served as the Special Education Support Services Cabinet General Education Teacher Rep, advocating for inclusive practices. Ms. Flynn was also an active member of the Wellness Committee and has coached softball for several seasons.
Some of her interests include spending time outside, gardening, reading, baking, and working out. A fun fact about Ms. Flynn is that she has a golden retriever named Charlie who has worked alongside her in the classroom for the past six years as a therapy dog!
