We’re #1 and we’re proud of it! The website Niche.com recently released its Best Schools and Districts rankings and North Colonie and Shaker High School are both at the top of the list!
Niche ranked North Colonie Central School District the #1 School District in the Albany Area with an overall grade of A. The rest of the grades are as follows:

Clubs & Activities: A+
College Prep: A
Diversity: A-
Food: B-
Resources & Facilities: A-
Sports: A-
Teachers: A
North Colonie CSD is one of the largest public school districts in the Capital Region, serving more than 6,200 students in grades K-12.
Niche.com also ranked Shaker High School as the #1 Public High School in the Albany Area with an overall grade of A. The high school has more than 2,000 students, including the largest freshmen class ever with 550 students.
Rounding out the awards is Shaker Middle School which is ranked the #2 Public Middle School in the Albany Area with an overall grade of A. SMS serves more than 1,500 students in grades 6-8.
