The Shaker High School Science Olympiad placed in 12 of the 15 categories in areas that range across all scientific disciplines at this year’s virtual Capital Region Competition. Science Olympiad Advisor Samuel Ziebel said, “I am incredibly proud of our students’ perseverance, and can’t wait to be able to meet and compete in person next year. I am excited to see the Shaker High School Science Olympiad learn and grow!”

Codebusters:

Designer Genes:
- 3rd: Roshni Ramesh and Minyi Chen
Disease Detectives:

Dynamic Planet:

There were a few technical obstacles that prevented some tests from processing, that happened where you see unofficial next to the names of some students. Despite the glitches, the Shaker teams did a great job and showed off their inspiring dedication and impressive knowledge through the competition.
Dolly Bhashyam, senior co-chair of Science Olympiad who placed in three competitions had this message of congratulations to her fellow students, “The dedication and hard work displayed by all of our Science Olympiad members this year is what makes the Shaker Science Olympiad such a great experience. We look forward to seeing all of these students do great things in the future!”
