Shaker Middle School students last week proudly wore the traditional garments from their countries and shared the stories of their customs and traditions with classmates and staff. Some countries that were represented were Japan, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Algeria, and Sudan. Few. “It was a great day and the students were so proud. It was an awesome way to learn about each other, and have students teach others about their cultures. Some even learned that their peers shared the same culture, allowing them to make new connections with one another,” said Alice Estevez, Shaker Middle School ENL/admin intern.
