SHS Student Presents at American Geophysical Union’s Winter Meeting

Please join us in congratulating Ella Bagchi! The Shaker High School sophomore recently presented at the American Geophysical Union’s (AGU) annual winter meeting in Washington, D.C. on her project, “The Effects of Wildfire Aerosols on Phytoplankton Populations in the North Pacific Ocean.” Ella presented in the student section, among many high school, college, and graduate students. The AGU also featured presentations from adult researchers currently studying topics of interest to the AGU.

The experience allowed Ella to hear from other researchers and areas of interest. She appreciated this experience, stating, “I really enjoyed presenting my research at AGU, and it was a very exciting experience! I saw many other presentations from researchers, and it was inspiring to see how so many people are working together to help the environment, combat climate change, and solve global issues. I loved learning about other areas of research, presenting my own project, connecting with international students/researchers, and just being a part of the many scientists that are improving our world.”

Great work, Ella! Congratulations on this honor!
