On May 18th, the Engineering Capstone team of Lucas Bell and Jonah Hymes will compete in the Thomas Edison Pitch Competition in New Jersey.
The contest was created in 2010 as a competition to showcase and encourage engineering invention, innovation and entrepreneurship among students before they get to college. Every year, students submit their great ideas to win prizes and gain hands-on experience building their prototype and pitching their idea to a panel of judges. There were more than 200 teams from all over the country and several worldwide who submitted an entry into the competition.
Jonah and Lucas’s engineering project aims to “Save the Bees” with a device that injects important chemicals into the beehive that kills invasive mites that harm the bees. Great job future engineers!
